Since T.R. officially started middle school today, summer is over for all practical purposes. Way back at the beginning of summer, he made a foolish bet with me about who could read the most pages this summer without asking for a handicap of any kind. The loser has to make dinner for the winner. I will be enjoying some lovely fondue in the near future.

Here is what I read, for a total of 7383 pages and 24 books:

Always Running
Carter Beats the Devil
Children of God
Cornelia & the Audacious Escapades of the Somerset Sisters
Dealing with Dragons
Dragon Cauldron
Dragon Steel
Dragon War
Faradawn
Gender Outlaw
Great Jones St.
King Dork
Mr. Fooster: Traveling on a Whim
Searching for Dragons
So Brave, Young, & Handsome
The Invention of Hugo Cabret
The Mysterious Benedict Society
The Penderwicks
The Penderwicks on Gardam St.
The Wild Girls
The Yiddish Policemen's Union
Travels of Thelonious
What Should I Do With My Life
Wonder Boys

In the non-fiction category, I read 3 books, one a memoir of gang life, one about vocation, and one about gender identity. I read two comic books. I read one science fiction novel, which was also a sequel. Of the young adult novels I read (total of 10), many were sequels. There was no book I absolutely hated, but the two dragon books by Patricia Wrede made me laugh the loudest, Hugo Cabret made me want other people to read it most, and Carter Beats the Devil was most satisfying.

T.R. failed to write down any books on his log, but I know he has read three or four Redwall books this summer and he started Dealing With Dragon because I was laughing so hard while reading it myself.
