Updates galore

I have been to the doctor. The procedure on Friday went well, according to the people who would know. At first I felt better than I expected, but now, sadly, I feel much crampier and more exhausted than would be ideal. I am bad at taking it easy, so this will be a challenge for me.

The new camera is super duper awesome. I am somewhat overwhelmed with the options it gives me, so my friend Elizabeth helped me enormously by using her superior intellect and vast experience to make my camera behave, for the moment, like my old camera, in terms of focus and metering. This means that I can take pictures and the results are what I expect them to be. As I get more comfortable with the tools, the pictures will get better and I’ll try more new options.

I have a second interview Wednesday for the administrative position. This time I will meet the person to whom I will actually report if I get the job. I guessed correctly about what to wear the first time, so I’m less worried about that this time and more about gauging personality. Work is work, but the people I work with make it wonderful, tolerable, or horrible. This is one of those times when I wish there were obvious signs that said, “You can work with this person,” or “Run like hell.”

I have crossed the halfway point, in theory, of T.’s Christmas book. Lots more to do, of course, but it is nice to have reached a milestone.
