In 1978, I was ten. My dad drove a car like this one. His might have been white. He had a series of white Caddies and one blue one. The blue one might have been a Sedan de Ville. We didn't ride in Dad's car as often as Mom's-- she had a series of blue Buick station wagons in sizes ranging from huge to enormous-- but I still remember the awe his cushy leather seats inspired. And the wood or wood-like inlay stuff on the door panels! The power windows! The ashtrays! The state-of-the-art 8-track tape player!
And now my childhood is old enough that Dad's car can be shown at the Classic Car Show along with the Model T's, the Mustangs, the Fairlanes, the Corvettes, and one purple Nova.
