Ouch. Yoga is supposed to be good for a person. I’m sure it is. But yesterday’s class was a butt-buster.

I usually make it through yoga because while I am not particularly flexible, I can rely on my strength. My poor muscles were trembling something fierce and threatening to let me crash to the floor. This was yoga tough love, the substitute instructor saying how useful it is for us to learn to breathe through the uncomfortable poses.

I was not the only one suffering. There were sighs and incredulous giggles from around the room as the instructor outlined the various series of impossible poses. We all tried. But man, oh man, did I miss our regular teacher and his kind and gentle approach to our bodies.

It didn’t help that I had a butt-busting ballet class on Tuesday. In fact, I was kind of hoping that yoga would help stretch out and soften the muscles I used to dance. So much for that plan.

Thankfully, when it came time to swim last night, T.R. opted out of the chilly pool and into the hot tub. Hot water is a Good Thing.
