Sleepy Eyeballs

I am quite possibly the most repetitive person on the planet. Except T.R., but I think he’ll grow out of it. It’s not so much that I say the same things over and over, but that the same themes repeat.

Get enough sleep. This is the best piece of advice I have. I had two incredibly cranky children, one inclined to cry the other to pout, yesterday evening. This morning? Cheery! Able to follow instructions without angst! Cooperative! It is brilliant.

Sadly, I’m having a little trouble following my own advice. It is hard to keep sleeping when you dream that someone is sticking a finger in your eyeball preparatory to pulling the eye out. My unconscious doesn’t like me very much sometimes. Maybe it doesn’t know that I’ll stop being cranky if it lets me sleep…

Lent Day 20

It's all about the lines. I wrote a paper once about the final line on a painting in To the Lighthouse, some kind of high abstract thing about lines connecting and dividing vision. This line does divide and connect: we're halfway through the 40 days. I sometimes resent my projects. I often don't know what to make or do. But I'm still doing them.
