Look what I made!

I made this quilt for my son T.R. at his request.

(Don't know why that first picture came out sideways, but oh well.)

Before he was born, I made him one I saw in a book with a similar theme, but the text was from nursery rhymes and the quilt was crib-sized. Now that he's big, he wanted one for his bed. We chose the quotes from some of our favorite books (and one favorite item from the bulletin board). I embroidered the panels using waste canvas, then pieced the quilt. I hand-quilted it and voila. He hasn't seen the finished product yet, but I think he will be happy.

That's beautiful!

I make the kid's Halloween costumes, and I crochet her sweaters--but slowly enough that they tend to be too small when I'm done :(. But i think she still appreciates the thought.

Thanks! I felt good about it. It was not as challenging as a Halloween costume-- I can say, with pride, that I re-engineered some pants for a Sir Francis Drake costume out of a purple taffeta prom dress, but ultimately more satisfying. Now I just need to find a "next" project. I'm thinking of doing some knitting again, but if I make a sweater, I'll have to do the sleeves first because I hate knitting sleeves. Too much counting.
